DaTe NiGhT!!!

I know many of you are thinkin', "so you finally went out on a date huh?" and my response to you is not exactly. Ha ha...the Lawton adults had date night tonight, but Leilani and I had our own date night too! Mark and Rosie wanted to go out but Leiliani had group violin lessons, so I took Nan (that's Leilani for those of you who don't know) and they went out. (Don't worry, the other kids were with Aunt Holly and Uncle Tom; we didn't abandon them.) So Leilani did great at violin! She is quite the little mistro! I can't tell the difference for when Leilani plays and when Rosie plays; that's how good Leilani is getting.

Anyway...so after violin, we ran some errands and then went to taco bell! Nan loves that place! We spoiled our dinner too 'cause we went to coldstone and the ice cream was melting, so we had to eat it in the car on the way home. All the way home Nan asked me how to spell things. She's quite the little speller. She can spell many words like hamburger, burrito, taco bell, monkey, rodeo and "Sachiyo Takahashi" which I think is very impressive for a six year old. However when I came up with certain words that were more difficult and adopted from the french language she said, "If I don't get it right, will you give me another chance?" as if I was going to make her walk home if she was unable to spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious perfectly her first try. Ha ha--she kills me!

After ice cream and dinner and the many spelled words, we decided to watch a movie before it was time to hit the hay! Leilani picked the movie and so we watched Little Shop of Horrors which I figured was an appropriate movie to watch seeing that Rosie let Mia watch it the other day. Yeah, kind of a weird movie. Great music, odd movie; Leilani seemed to love it though! Ha ha...she likes the peculiar movies just like her momma. But I will admit, it was a pretty good movie, but it kind of creeped me out at points. In addition to the creepiness, Leilani would freak out every once in a while and I thought that she was having a heart attack or suffering from a stroke or some fatal cause that would leave her lifeless. In sumation, I liked the movie for the most part, it made me laugh; just don't watch it with young ones.

As the movie concluded and I asked Nan to get her pajamas on, i walked downstairs and saw Rosie in the window, which then gave me a heart attack and that ended the "date night." Ha ha...good ending eh?
